Language Description 1 is the first in a series of three reference books which covers the topics from the course proforma of Program Persedian Ijazah Sarjana Muda Perguruan (PPISM) Foundation Programme and B. Ed. TESL. The chapters are sequenced according to the course content of these programmes.    Specially designed with a focus on analyzing and applying the complexity of grammatical description, the book aims to guide and assist student teachers to develop an overall knowledge and understanding of English language grammar, as well as provide a source of reference to the student teachers of the TESL Programme. 

As the title suggests, Language Description 1 provides a perspective of grammar in terms of the subject components, namely ‘Language Description’ and ‘Language Study’, which are compulsory components of the TESL Programme.    

This book contains many exercises that provide focused practice for student teachers and even college or university students, practising teachers who are studying English language and teachers who are interested to continue learning and exploring English language grammar. Intensive practice of grammar items discussed in the form of ‘Consolidation Exercise’ sections found after each chapter assist in strengthening students’ confidence in dealing with the various aspects of grammar rules.
